    This organization focuses on enhancing the lives of children, youth, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by building awareness, inspiring action and advancing rights, responsibilities, and social justice. If your child is not being included in school or other community settings, Inclusion BC may be able to offer support.

  • BCEdAccess

    BCEdAccess focuses specifically on access to inclusive education in British Columbia. They offer support, knowledge, and education for families, schools, and community groups. They also record data on school exclusion in BC via their Exclusion Tracker.

  • Jordan’s Principle

    Jordan's Principle is a child-first principle that aims to eliminate service inequities and delays for First Nations children in Canada. Jordan’s Principle often funds support from Blackbird, and our staff are able to assist with the application process.

  • Bear Essentials

    Bear Essentials is a funding program offered through the Childen’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. It helps families to pay for medical travel and supplies, up to a $10,000 lifetime maximum per child.

  • At Home Program

    The At Home Program is a BC government initiative that helps families of children with disabilities access funding for medical equipment, respite, and therapies.

  • Travel Assistance Program

    TAP alleviate some of the transportation costs for eligible BC residents who must travel within the province for non-emergency medical specialist services not available in their own community.

  • CKNW Kids Fund

    This charity helps children with disabilities access necessary therapies, equipment and support.

  • Labatt Better Together Charity

    This charity helps children with disabilities access necessary therapies, equipment and support.

  • Autism Support Network

    This nonprofit organization provides BC families with resources, support and information about accessing autism services. They provide many free and low cost trainings and events for families.
